Bama Cooking
I'm Honey. My family and I live on a beef ranch in Alabama. We have three daughters and one grandson. We are very self-sufficient. Pappy is a police officer, and I work in real estate. We are busy people, like everyone else! This blog will be about our homestead and self-sufficient lifestyle. It will be a place to share recipes, frugal tips, Roll Tide stories, and our faith. We will share parenting ideas and homeschool tips that have worked for us.

Review "Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball"
Hi Everyone! Happy New Year! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! We certainly did! It snowed here, and we got up to a white Christmas morning! That was a wonderful surprise in the south. It is not often we get this treat.
I like to read "holiday" books around that holiday. I read a lot of fiction, and so I like to have a Christmas story to read during the Christmas holidays, etc. This year, the book I chose was "Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball" by Donita K. Paul. I started this book Christmas afternoon, and finished it within 24 hours. It was a great read, and a nice surprise. The characters in the book are Christians, which I was not expecting. The main characters are Cora Crowder and Simon Derrick. Cora Crowder avoids contact with her disfunctional family since becoming a Christian. She is looking forward to a quiet Christmas alone with her cat. Simon has a lot of responsibility for his family (sister, mother, aunt, and grandfather - a multi-generational family) and wonders if he will ever find a wife who will fit in the family he has at home. This story is about the match making that brings Cora and Simon together, by way of free tickets to a Christmas Ball. This story is very refreshing and I believe anyone who reads it will enjoy. Success!
Hey Ladies,
I finished! I read the Bible in 90 Days, and finished in 90 days! I'm so excited! This is not the first time I have read the Bible through, but it is the first time I've successfully finished the B90 Days program. I think the difference is that I used the B90 Days book, and that I decided that I wouldn't give up. I mentioned it at church Sunday, and now others are interested in trying it, too. My next study project is to begin "The Power of Praying for your Adult Children" by Stormie Omartian. Thanks for stopping by! Honey

Day 85! in Bible in 90 Days!
Hi Everyone! I'm still behind in my reading by a few days, but I made a plan to read 18 pages a day, and I should be through Thursday, a couple days early! I meant to finish "just in time" but somehow I figured it wrong. So at least I have a little wiggle room in case I need it! Hope you all finish on time, too! Have a great week. Honey

Working the Plan! 12 Days to go! B90 Days Check in
Hi Everyone! I'm Honey and This is Bama Cooking! Today is Check in for Bible in 90 Days! I believe it is day 78, which means we have 12 days left! I made a plan a week ago, and right now I am a day ahead in my plan to catch up! So I'm confident that I will finish on time. I really want this to happen, and ask for your continued prayers, that I will find the time, identity the time, and use the time in my day to finish this program. I have read the Bible in a year. But it is very inportant to me that I finish this program. I'm praying that I will be successfull, and all the others who are behind will be able to finish too. Honey

Bible Reading and Rental Properties!
Hey Everybody! I'm Back! We really enjoyed our vacation, but are glad to be home! I spent a lot of time on my vacation, relaxing and reading my "Bible in 90 Days" . I am about three days from being caught up. I'm so excited to be so close! I was embarrassed to say that I was about a month behind before, but I'm so close to being caught up with the group, I can taste the success of being able to finish on time! Keep praying for me! I appreciate ALL your support!
Pappy and I have been renting property for about 20 years. That's a long time to do one thing! We have quite a bit available right now so if anyone knows someone who needs a home in the Huntsville area, let me know, and I will do my best to fix them up!
Hope you have a great week! Stay close to our Lord! Love, Honey
